Five eras.
One continuous journey.
01 / THE QUICK BRIEFING
There is only one answer to enter: a year. The interesting part is how you get there.

Read the event carefully. A ruler, invention, place or war can narrow an unfamiliar date to a familiar century.
Enter a year from 1 AD to the current year, then press Enter or tap GO. Daily gives you 25 seconds and one guess per moment.
The answer shows your error, points and a linked history fact. Choose Next Moment when you are ready. A missed timer scores zero.
02 / PICK YOUR PACE
Start with Daily to learn the rhythm. Move to Endless when you want to keep exploring.
A fixed set of seven moments for your local date. Each question starts with 25 seconds; each answer can earn up to 100 points.
Begin with three chrono-cells. Answers below 30 base points cost a cell; strong guesses build a combo, with multipliers up to ×4.
03 / PRECISION MATTERS
An exact year always earns 100 base points. For other answers, older events allow a wider margin of error.
| How close? | Points | Title |
|---|---|---|
| Exact year | 100 | Timekeeper |
| Very close | 85 | Chronicler |
| Near | 60 | Historian |
| Rough | 35 | Explorer |
| Far | 15 | Wanderer |
| Further away | 5 | Tourist |
| No answer | 0 | Lost in Time |
TRY A SCORING EXAMPLE
This independent explainer uses the observed base-score rules. It is a practice example, separate from your game.
Exactness wins. A guess 10 years away from 1800 scores 85; the same error near the present scores 60. No daily answers are revealed here.

MORE THAN A RIGHT ANSWER
The reveal is the useful half of the game: compare your year with the answer, watch the airship advance, and open the cited source if the event catches your attention.
A low score can still give you a memorable historical anchor. Read it before rushing into the next round.
Build a better timeline04 / THE VIEW FROM THE AIRSHIP
Your guesses move the airship through these visual worlds. Think of them as broad historical anchors, rather than a substitute for a date.
Empires, classical cities and early milestones.
Kingdoms, trade routes and changing beliefs.
Printing, exploration and expanding connections.
Steam, machines and a rapidly changing world.
Spaceflight, computing and familiar turning points.
05 / NOTES FOR A BETTER GUESS
Useful habits for a history guessing game—without looking up today's answers.
Ask what had to exist before the event: ocean-going ships, a printing press, a steam engine, a radio? Eliminate impossible centuries before choosing the exact year.
If the event belongs to a war, reign or technological period you recognise, start there. A sensible estimate earns more than letting a difficult question time out.
Attach an unfamiliar event to something you already know: before a revolution, after a voyage, during a ruler's lifetime. Connections are easier to retrieve than isolated numbers.
Below 30 base points costs a chrono-cell. When precision feels unlikely, focus on getting into a reliable period. Save ambitious exact-year guesses for events you recognise.
06 / BEFORE YOU SET OFF
A few practical details about playing Eraly online.
The Play button opens the original Eraly game in a new tab. This is an independent guide and launch point. The original game does not currently allow play inside other websites.
The original Daily and Endless modes are free to play in a browser and do not require an account. No download is needed. The original game may show its own advertising.
The game uses your local calendar date and changes the daily set at local midnight. Players in different time zones can therefore be on different daily sets at the same instant.
The permitted error grows with the age of the event. Ten years away from a recent event scores differently from ten years away from a much older event. Exact years always earn 100 base points.
The original game stores progress in the browser on the device you use. Switching browsers or devices, clearing site storage, or using a private window can give you a separate session. This guide cannot transfer or restore those saves.
The original game has a year field and GO control for touch input. Use an up-to-date mobile browser. For more room, close the keyboard after submitting and try landscape orientation if needed.
Try the Play link again, check your connection and reload the original game. If it opens but behaves differently with extensions enabled, test in another browser. Save data belongs to the original game; avoid clearing its storage if you want to keep progress.
